Giving & Impact

Each candle provides one meal.

Giving is not an extra part of Lit Soul Candles. It is built into the way every candle begins.

Food First, Candle Second

Our candles are poured into upcycled food cans. Before a can becomes a candle, the food inside it is put to use helping people experiencing food insecurity.

Sometimes we donate unopened canned food to organizations that distribute groceries directly. Most often, partner organizations use the food to prepare meals that are served to guests or packed for pickup.

What The Food Becomes

The food can become a hot meal, a pot of soup, or a smoothie made with fruit and juice. Donations may include beans, tomatoes, corn and other vegetables, chicken stock, fruit, and fruit juices. These are familiar ingredients that community kitchens can turn into something nourishing.

Who The Meals Serve

Food and housing insecurity affect people from every walk of life. The meals supported by Lit Soul purchases reach neighbors, families, elders, and individuals navigating difficult seasons. Some meals are served in community spaces, while others are prepared for people to take with them.

A Can With A Second Purpose

After the food is removed, the cans are cleaned and prepared for our studio. We hand-pour each one with our coconut soy wax blend, fragrance, a cotton-core wick, and a crystal. What began as a pantry staple becomes a candle made for reflection, rest, and intention.

Your Purchase Matters

Every candle purchased helps provide one meal. It also helps us continue working with organizations that understand the needs of their communities and know how to put each donation to good use.
